March Madness
It's March Madness time so the boys were watching the games together and I thought they looked pretty cute. The night before I delivered our plasma broke. It's more expensive to fix then just to buy a new TV so for now we are using my old TV from college. Do you recognize it Shauna?? It has a big crack in the top of it, the color has gone bad in one corner of the screen and it's pretty small for our room so Tom has to sit really close. It works better then our big expensive one though, and it's 10 years old. Go figure.
Baby pics
They didn't take Henry's picture at the hospital. I was too anxious to get out of there so the lady never got around to us. So, I've been trying to get a good shot of him at home to print up and use as his hospital pic. He doesn't like the flash though, so it's hard to get a good one of him looking at the camera. We think he's pretty cute though.
More Henry
At the hospital they put little socks on his hands so he wouldn't scratch himself. He loves having his hands up by his face. Who does everyone think he looks like? I have a very hard time telling who my kids look like. I can see it in other people's kids, but not in mine for some reason. My mom thinks he looks like Dad Kiehl. I originally thought he looked like Meg, but he looks different to me now. Tom thinks he looks like a Kiehl.
Henry Thomas Has Arrived!
Henry Thomas Kiehl arrived Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 3:30pm. He weighed in at 8lbs 8ozs and was 21" long. He is a beautiful, healthy little boy. Everything went very smoothly, for which we are extremely grateful. Third times a charm I guess! The kids were very excited to see him. Betsy brought them in soon after he was born. Meg was more than excited, as you can see in her face. She loves having a little baby at home and is extremely helpful. Charlie is pretty much oblivious to Henry's presence and he would like it to stay that way. He has just recently started saying "hi" to him, but still will not really look at him. I keep telling myself that Charlie is going to love having a little brother very soon and I shouldn't feel like I've just ruined Charlie's world.
Henry is a perfect little baby and we couldn't ask for anything to be better. The birth, nursing, sleeping, all is going perfectly. I keep waiting for something to change, but so far so good. He's even gained weight! For those of you who know my kids, this is not normal. I normally have to take them in for daily weight checks until they get back to their birth weight. We think he's already up a pound from his birth weight! I just can't believe it. Oh, and Tom thinks he rolled over yesterday. Tom put him on his stomach and he rolled to his back. I'm not sure that I really believe it, I told Tom he better call Guinness Book and report it. He is much stronger then our other kids though. He really tries to lift his head. Tom thinks Henry's neck is already as big as Charlie's (poor Charlie kind of has a skinny little neck).
We are very blessed to have three healthy, beautiful children and continue to be so thankful. We also have been very blessed with the generosity and kindness of our friends and family here. Betsy's family has taken good care of us even though she has been very sick. And we've had many of our friends bring us meals. They are all so good to us. My mom is here now spoiling us. I will be very sad when she leaves!
Charlie's Favorite Past Times
For those of you who haven't heard, Charlie is now addicted to the computer. He knows how to open Microsoft Explorer, find our list of favorites, and choose from that list which websites he would like to go to. He prefers Playhouse Disney, PBS kids, Noggin, Nick Jr., and Star Fall. He then plays all the games on each website. He also loves singing along to the songs you can play on the sites. It's pretty amazing. He loved showing the computer to his best friends: Bode and Cameron. The last picture is of the three boys in our tub. Charlie worships them and had a ball getting to stay with them while I was at the hospital. He got to sleep in Cameron's room with Cam, which I know he thought was super cool!
Meg has Jules Again
Meg was the VIP again at school. That means we had the special opportunity to have Jules the Giraffe for a week. We are supposed to photograph Meg with Jules doing special things she likes to do. So, Jules went to the park with us, to gymnastics, and he played on the computer with Meg. I thought these pictures were cute and would show you some things we've been doing for the past few months.
The Houston Temple
One Saturday, a couple weeks ago when Tom had to work, I took the kids to the temple. It was a gloomy, cloudy day, but the temple was beautiful. The kids really enjoyed it. Charlie loved playing in the fountains and they both loved running through the mazes of shrubs. I loved the tulips. You don't see many of them in this area and they really reminded me of my wedding day. BEAUTIFUL!
